Start Your Investigation: Hearthstone's "Murder At Castle Nathria" Expansion Is Now Live
Comes with 135 new collectible cards, an "Infuse" keyword, and more.
Hearthstone's "Murder at Castle Nathria" is in full swing today featuring 135 new collectible cards, a Location card type, Infuse keyword, and more. Following the death of Sire Denathrius during a party with ten of his closest associates and enemies, players will go through an expansion of "whodunnit" while assisting Murloc Holmes and Watfin resolve the mystery.
While the premise of the expansion is interesting, the new cards are certainly the main event here. At the forefront, Blizzard is introducing an all-new card type, Locations, which will be permanent in Hearthstone. Locations are placed on the board like minions and can't be damaged or destroyed except by cards that can specifically target them.
The cards have effects that are usable on a player's turn, such as setting a "minion's attack and health to 3" or "triggering a friendly minion's Deathrattle." Each time a Location is used it loses durability, however. For the sake of the murder mystery, every class will have a unique Location in Murder at Castle Nathria that'll represent a potential crime scene or maybe an alibi.
There are ten legendary suspects, such as Stewart the Steward and Baroness Vashj. And of course, Murloc Holmes is another card added to the pile. Whenever he solves three mysteries within the opponent's hand, he can copy the deck of cards. Alongside the unique cards is a new keyword, Infuse, and when put on cards in the deck, they will absorb anima whenever friendly minions die. Once a certain threshold of friendly minions dies, the Infused card will transform into a more powerful version.
The patch notes on the official Hearthstone website dive deeper into the card statistics and expansion improvements for those wanting more information.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
