Starborne Enters Open Beta With Some Difficulty
Those hoping to give Solid Clouds' space strategy game Starborne a whirl before the official launch, today's the day. The company kicked off the open beta period for the game earlier today -- although based on reports from those trying to get in, there's a bit of a struggle and the game's been down more than up so far. But, this kind of thing is what beta tests are for, so we're sure they'll get it worked out eventually.
In the meantime, here's what you need to know.
With the launch of the beta, Solid Clouds is introducing new additions to the game's map. These new additions include safer starting zones and areas that provide a higher amount of resources. There are now also three different ways to win the game varying from military conquest to simply gaining control of the most areas in space.
Other features that should improve gameplay include the addition of map pins to help with strategic planning, an in-game tutorial, badges, and more. If you haven't signed up for the open beta, that's fine. You can still do so now by heading to the game's official site and creating an account. Just keep in mind it might be a bit before you're actually able to log in.
