Star Wars: The Old Republic Fans Mourn The Loss Of Darth Vader Actor David Prowse
David Prowse, the towering English actor and bodybuilder who filled the suit of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy, passed away this weekend at the age of 85. I was fortunate enough to meet Prowse on several occasions, but even Star Wars fans who didn't are saddened by his loss, and some of them gathered together to mourn his passing in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Late last night, SWTOR players on the Darth Malgus server gathered at Memorial Plaza on Drummond Kaas in a moment of silence to commemorate Prowse's passing. The solemn ceremony was followed up by a round of applause and other emotes and displays of power that would be sure to make Darth Vader proud.
Of course, SWTOR is set several millennia before Anakin Skywalker was born, but if you're playing on the Legends emulator for Star Wars: Galaxies -- which takes place in a time frame when Darth Vader is very much alive and active -- you can visit a memorial that was placed in Prowse's honor yesterday:
The beautiful thing about #StarWarsGalaxies is that nobody is truly ever gone. Iconic actors, or community members. Everyone is a part of the history of our home galaxy. Pay tribute to the life of David Prowse by visiting > Rori, Narmle. (/Waypoint -5293 -2228)#SWGLegends pic.twitter.com/m6SxPtSlbQ
