Star Wars: Hunters Looks Like It Won't Make It To Steam As The F2P Game Announces Its Shuttering
Even the mobile version wasn't long for this world having only released last May.
After holding a Steam play test back in December/January, Zynga intended to bring Star Wars: Hunters, the F2P mobile 4v4 shooter, out on PC this year. That plan has changed dramatically as not only is the PC version showing as no longer available on Steam, but the game has announced that all existing versions on mobile and Switch will now shut down, too.
The game's final update will arrive on April 15th and in-game purchases will be disabled at the same time. The update will be free and will include new Hunter Tuya and the game's final Ranked Mode leaderboard. The servers will be completely shut down on October 1st, 2025.
Interestingly, the game's current fifth season will be extended by 3 weeks with events and shop bundles from the season being run a second time. This delay seems to be primarlily done to avoid giving out refunds. According to the FAQ on the closing, the purchase of Season 5's Arena Pass will not be refunded since the team is announcing things 30 days ahead of time. Any crystal (cash shop currency) purchases made between now and April 15th is to "give players time" to spend the crystals they have on hand already.
That's one way to do things, I guess.
