Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection Will Not Have Crossplay At Launch And May Never Get It
This could be a deal breaker for some.
Some folks will be disappointed today as it has come to light that the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection will not have crossplay, dashing the hopes of friends across different platforms everywhere. The game will, however, have cross-generation multiplayer, meaning older console owners can play with newer console owners. PS4 and PS5 players play together, for example.
The revelation was confirmed after Reddit user ItsMaverick1357 sent in a ticket asking about crossplay support. The email response from an Aspyr representative confirmed that the game will not feature crossplay. They also did not mention the possibility of crossplay coming in the future, as pointed out by Game Rant.
While I do have one friend who plays on Xbox exclusively, most of the folks I would play with are on PC, so to me, it's not a big deal. To others, it might be more important. What do you think? Is not having crossplay a deal breaker for you, or are you just going to play it solo anyway? Judging by the early response the game has gotten it sounds like all platforms will be packed with players.
