Star Trek Online To Give Pilot Bridge Officers Some Much Needed Love
Finally, they’ll be as useful as their counterparts.
Not all bridge officers are built the same in Star Trek Online. By that, we don’t mean that they have different abilities and uses. That should be expected. What we mean is that some are just not as useful as others. Those Pilot Bridge Officers just really haven’t been as effective as a lot of the others. But, that’s all about to change. The STO team dropped a blog post today, revealing plans to give the Pilot Bridge Officers love.
As the post notes, the bridge officers make attempts at doing cool things but just fail at doing it. The reason for this is that they lack the raw power to do so. Well, most of them anyway. Some need a bit more love than others.
To address these issues, the developers are raising the power level of Pilot Bridge Officers. For the most part, this boost will be in the area that makes the officer special. There were some experimental changes as well. The Reinforcements Squadron is getting an interesting tweak. Stat scaling is being added to fighters that are called in. Two Engineer Bridge Officer abilities are being tweaked as well. Captains will now have the ability to apply some of their own adaptations to Starship Shields, with Emergency Power and Reverse Shield Polarity now granting conditional and unconditional immunity to Shield Drain. Players will have a few more options when it comes to gameplay.
These changes should go live on PC sometime this week with a console push coming after the team has had some time to review the performance of these changes on PC.
