The post is a bunch of platitudes, but nothing concrete that may assuage player concerns yet.

Ever since Neverwinter and Star Trek Online were shifted away from Cryptic Studios and moved over to DECA Games as part of Embracer's restructuring, there's been a bit of uncertainty regarding the futures of the MMORPGs. Initially we heard all the usual platitudes of "business as usual" and "nothing changing," but there really hasn't been any specifics from the new teams since then.

On the Star Trek side of things, DECA has finally introduced itself officially on the game's website. The intro comes in two forms. First we get a letter from the DECA team as a whole and second we receive a letter from "Counselor Sunna," the new community manager. As expected, both letters attempt to express the team's desire to continue development, listen to player feedback, and establish their "Trek" cred by making multiple show references.

The notes are well and good and introductions are always nice, but they fail to really address any player concerns meaningfully. Instead, it seems to punt the ball on that front down the road a bit by saying, "We are aware that over the last few months, there have been a lot of questions about the future of Star Trek Online and our plans. We are planning an Introduction Stream as well as a Q&A session in the near future. Additionally, you’ll see us pop-up once in a while on social media and forums to answer more questions in the coming months!"

We'll have to wait for the stream's date...and a matching post on the Neverwinter site. There isn't one there yet weirdly, but I'll come back and add a link if they do post a version there.

I do like the way they describe what the company does with "mature" games, "Many of you might be wondering who we are. At DECA Games, we focus on investing in and rejuvenating games that are in a mature stage of their lifecycle. DECA derives from decade, meaning that we aim not only to extend but also continue the lifecycle of games with dedicated playerbases."

DECA is "excited" for players to play through their first episode, Unveiled, which launches tomorrow on PC.
