Star Trek Online Celebrates The 50th Anniversary Of The Franchise With Agents Of Yesterday
Star Trek: The Original Series turns 50 this year and -- of course -- that means celebration time for those playing the free-to-play MMO Star Trek Online. Perfect Word Entertainment and Cryptic Studios announced plans for the free-to-play game's third expansion, Agents of Yesterday, which will celebrate the anniversary by letting players create a new Captain in the TOS timeline.
Players will be able to take control of era specific ships -- new ships are being added in addition to the Constitution class starship including a Daedalus class science vessel, and spend time with two new (old) characters, Chekov and "Scotty". Walter Koenig will return to the role of Chekov while James Doohan's son Chris will take on voicing the role of Scotty.
