Star Citizen Offers Players A Preview Of 4.0 With Destination Pyro
The preview contains new tech, locations, and features from 4.0.
Star Citizen’s Alpha 4.0 isn’t fully ready just yet, but it is far enough along that Cloud Imperium has rolled out a preview – Alpha 4.0: Destination Pyro. The preview is live on the MMO's servers with new tech, locations, ships, and more and players can check it all out now. That said, the devs don’t want to compromise the live experience, so they’ll be running this preview alongside Alpha 3.24.3. That way, players can still play missions and take part in other content while the kinks are being worked out in 4.0
As for what players can expect from the Destination Pyro 4.0 Preview, it adds the game’s second star system with six planets, six moons, space stations, and other celestial bodies. It also introduces Server Meshing technology. This allows up to 500 players to share the same universe and allows for better performance in busy areas of the game. Another new feature added here is jump points. Players now have a new, more direct way to get around.
