Star Citizen Kicks Off Annual ‘Ship Showdown’ Event And Free-Play Period
It’s time to vote for your favorites.
Once again, it’s time for Star Citizen’s annual ‘Ship Showdown’ event. As is the case every year, the space game's event asks players to vote for their favorite ship or ground vehicle, with the fans of the winning mode of transport receiving special prizes.
This year's Showdown features the entry-level transport Cutter, the Vulture salvage ship, and the multi-crew Corsair, among others. The competition is broken into phases. Phase 1, which required players to support their favorite ship in creative ways such as making videos, recording songs, and designing miniatures among other things, has already passed. We are currently in Phase 2, ‘Live Showdown', which is the voting phase of things. This lasts until September 6.
At the same time, Cloud Imperium Games is hosting a free access period. This kicks off today and will last until September 7.
