Star Citizen Developer Cloud Imperium Announces Full Acquisition Of Turbulent
The Canadian-based studio has been working with CIG on Star Citizen for over a decade.
Today, Cloud Imperium Group, the developer of the obscenely-successfully crowd-funded Star Citizen announced the full acquisition of Montreal-based studio Turbulent. The two companies have been working together for some time on the sci-fi game – eleven years, in fact. In 2020 CIG acquired 25% of Turbulent’s shares, paving the way for today’s acquisition.
For those wondering, Turbulent plans to continue to work on all existing projects and they’re keeping all of their employees. The same management team will continue to run the studio as well. The only current change is that Turbulent's CTO Benoit Beauséjour and CEO Marc Beaudet will become CIG shareholders and take on the roles of Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Studio Operations, respectively.
