Square Enix To Celebrate Final Fantasy XI's 20th Anniversary With A Livestream
The stream is scheduled to be over five hours long.
Final Fantasy XI – you know that Final Fantasy MMO that came before XIV and that people continue to play to this day – is hitting the "twenty years in action" mark. In honor of the occasion, Square Enix will be hosting an anniversary livestream on Sunday, May 8. It will feature several of the game's developers talking about their work and reminiscing as well as new information about the game.
Among those to be featured on the stream will be Cygames' Yuito Kimura, who will discuss the Final Fantasy XI and Granblue Fantasy crossover event. During this event, Granblue Fantasy players will have the opportunity to acquire Final Fantasy XI characters. Details on how that will work will be provided later.
As stated above, the livestream will take place on May 8. The stream will be hosted on YouTube (not Twitch) and will begin at 12:45 AM Pacific/3:45 am Eastern, so, set your alarms – or prepare to catch it on VOD. If you go for the latter, you'll likely be able to find the stream here on MMOBomb.
What do you think the "big" 20th anniversary announcement will be?
