Square Enix’s Mobile Battle Royale Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier Hits 1 Million Downloads
The game had only been out for two days.
It’s only been four days since Square Enix released the mobile battle royale based on Final Fantasy VII’s SOLDIER organization and in half that time it’s been downloaded more than a million times via iOS and Android. Titled Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, the game features 75-player magitechnical battles, the kind you’d likely expect from the Final Fantasy franchise.
To mark the milestone, Square Enix is offering players a few useful gifts, including 3 Shinra Pack Tickets – each with 3 items from a Shinra Pack and two Chocobo feed sets. The items will be delivered to all players, so all you need to do is log in.

Of course, the high player count is having a bit of an impact on the game’s matchmaking system and has increased the chance of players encountering each other in battle. The dev team is tweaking this as we speak, adjusting the player/bot ratio, and plan to have it live after maintenance on November 23.
High user volume is resulting in a high chance to encounter other players in battle. We plan to tweak matching logic and adjust the bot:player ratio. This will go live after maintenance ends at 6p.m. PST on 11/23.
