Square Enix Announces The Return Of Automatic Housing Demolition For North American Final Fantasy XIV Players
It’s time to visit your house.
We know is can be easy to lose track of the housing situation in Final Fantasy XIV – what with the devs occasionally turning off demolition from time to time. The last time players of the MMORPG had to worry about logging into their house to make sure it wouldn’t be demolished and the property auctioned off to someone else was in October. We’ll all soon have to worry about it again.
The XIV team has announced the return of housing demolition. Don’t worry, you still have some time, as it returns on January 8, 2025. Note, however, that that does not mean the demo countdown period will start on that date. Rather, it will depend on when you last entered your house. Yes, you have to go into the house, not just visit the property.
For those who have been in their house at least once since demolition was suspended, the timer will reset. This means that if you go into your house any time before demolition resumes, you’ll be fine. However, if demolition resumes and you haven’t been in hour house since it was suspended, the timer will resume based on where it was before. Basically, if you had 11 days left before they suspended demolition in October and you don’t enter your house again between now and January 8, you’ll still have just 11 days left before losing your house. Just go visit your house if you want to keep it. Save yourself the worry.
In additional news, we’re just four days away from Patch 7.15 and the Dawntrail special site has been updated with new information on the upcoming content. When the patch drops, it will introduce the new Cloud of Darkness Chaotic Alliance Raid, complete with new gear and a pretty wild-looking mount. For the more casual among us, the update also kicks off the “Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures”. It looks like he’s headed to Solution 9. Gotta feel a little sorry for the Alexandrians.
Crafters and gatherers get their first Dawntrail Custom Delivery quests with Nitowike. A new set of Wachemeqimeqi Quests will also be available for those who have completed all the crafting and gathering role quests. We have to wait until 7.16 to complete the story line for the DoW/M role quests.
