Square Enix Announces Date For Final Fantasy XIV Live Letter 72
Set your alarm and stock up on the caffeine, it’s gonna be another early one.
Yesterday, Square Enix launched the Special Site for Final Fantasy XIV’s next big patch, 6.2 “Buried Memory”. At present, there’s not much to the site other than a bullet list of the things people can expect and a teaser image. But, that’s all going to start changing soon enough because – as you probably expected – the Special Site was just the lead-in to today’s announcement. We have a date for the next Letter from the Producer Live.
On August 12, at 4:00 am Pacific time, Live Letter 72 will air on YouTube, Twitch, and Niconico. As with the previous live letter, this one will feature slides in both Japanese and English. However, the audio part of the presentation will be Japanese only. The letter will provide even more details on the upcoming patch 6.2 as well as “miscellaneous updates”. Of course, we’ll be covering it so keep an eye out for that.
Based on the date of the Live Letter as well as the fact that the update has been promised sometime in “late August”, we’re looking at an August 23 or August 30 drop. My bet is the 23rd as the 30th only leaves one day in August and it’s more than two weeks after the Live Letter, but that is just me making a guess. We’ll obviously find out during the Live Letter.
