Spooky Season Is Well Underway In DCUO
Tis the season for pumpkins, candy, and spooky doings, which, of course, means it's time for related events in MMOs. Earlier this month, DC Universe Online kicked off The Witching Hour event -- which will run all the way to Halloween. The event introduces new feats for players to attempt as well as a repeatable daily mission that will reward players with "Spooky Bites." These bites can be used in Skeets' Boo-tique to buy all kinds of Halloween-themed goodies. These include a new Cat Boo family pet that will haunt players' bases and an ability that lets players turn into a fiery skeleton.
If The Witching Hour isn't enough for you, a shorter Halloween event -- the Trick or Treat event -- kicked off yesterday. From now until October 31, players will be rewarded with new Trick or Teekl buckets every day. They can fill these buckets with candy found throughout the game and then consume the bucket of candy in order to gain varying types of rewards. These include variants of classic Auras, past Halloween rewards, and more.

In the era of multiple monetization methods, I just wonder how much a "season pass" does for most games.

I bet some of you are shocked those weren't available already.

I wasn't a huge fan back in the day, but yes, I'll be trying out the game's return.

I've been covering this stuff for 15 years now and I still think about each of these from time to time.
