Splitgate's "Season 0" Adds A New Game Mode And Battle Pass

Splitgate is still in early access, but that doesn't mean 1047 Games can't do seasonal content and a battle pass. "Season 0" is now underway, and its accompanying battle pass has 100 levels' worth of items to earn, including new armors, weapon skins, name tags, banners, and a portal skin.

The new season comes with a new map, Keenan Station, which replaces the original Outpost map. There's also a new game mode, Contamination, which features teams of two players: Contaminated and Human. The Contaminated players have baseball bats, while the Humans have shotguns. When a Human dies, he respawns on the Contaminated team, and the game ends when all players are contaminated or time runs out.

Also arriving in this update is a new casual playlist, "with various game modes too wacky for normal casual," a Final Kill Cam, and pistol changes. Several quality-of-life changes have also been implemented, such as an aim assist slider, and King of the Hill, VIP, and Oddball modes now feature overtime. If you've got a friend you want to get into the game, there's also a referral pass with nine levels of rewards.

Finally: "You can now shoot portals through the bodies of enemies." They say when you die, you go down a long tunnel with a light at the end, but I don't think this is what they had in mind ...
