Splitgate 2 Alpha Starts Today And You Can Still Request Access, No Portal Required
The closed alpha will run until August 25th.
The return of Splitgate is upon us! After deciding to refocus their team on a new Splitgate project rather than continue work on the original portal-based shooter, the team at 1047 went silent for quite some time. We really didn't know what to expect from the new project. Would it be a full sequel, a new project in the IP, or something totally different? All we really knew was that it would be built in Unreal Engine 5 and it would be "based on" Splitgate.
Last month we finally got the official announcement that Splitgate 2 was a thing, and it wasn't all that far away. The updated, revamped, and expanded title is scheduled to release in 2025, but you could get in today and play in the closed alpha running until August 25th if you're curious.
Head over to the Splitgate 2 Steam page and click on the "Request Access" button to sign up. Now, clicking the button obviously doesn't guarantee access to the alpha, but the team will be adding players throughout the test so there's always the chance you could get lucky.
In the meantime, there is no NDA on the alpha so you can check out a number of content creators showing off the improvements made on Twitch right now. Some of them will be adding Twitch Drops to their stream throughout the alpha test.
Splitgate 2 is expected to release on PC and multiple console platforms, however this test is limited to PC only.
