Spellburst Is Back, The Draenei And Starship Keywords Arrive, And More From Hearthstone's "The Great Dark Beyond" Expansion Reveal
Log in now to claim a free Nexus-Prince Shaffar card, complete with Spellburst.
The next Hearthstone expansion has been revealed and "The Great Dark Beyond" will see the return of the Spellburst keyword, the addition of Draenei minions, a new "Starship" keyword/mechanic, and you can log in right now to snag a free copy of Nexus-Prince Shaffar complete with Spellburst.
For those that may have forgotten, Spellburst triggers effects the first time you cast a spell in the card game, making for some interesting sequencing of your plays for maximum effect. On the "totally" new front, Draenei minions are coming as we travel through space, and they're here to stay. These minions synergize with each other by buffing the next Draenei played. Again, it's a playstyle that places additional importance on the sequence of your plays.
Also new is "Starship". While cards with this keyword behave like other minions on the battlefield, once destroyed they add features to a Starship you are building in the background. At any point, you can pay 5 mana to summon your starship to the field, complete with any upgrades your dying minions gave to it. While any one can build starships, six classes have actual dedicated Starship cards. Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Druid, Hunter, Rogue, and Warlock all get their very own unique name and art for their Starship.
You can pre-purchase the expansion up until launch on November 5th for prices starting at $49.99. The set consists of 145 new cards and those looking for the pre-release Tavern Brawl will find that event's launch scheduled for October 29th.
