Prelude 9 is now live for testers of upcoming F2P MMORPG Soulframe. Digital Extremes dropped the new content today and now it's time for prelude players old and new to choose a side. Three factions are competing for your loyalty and each offers its own slew of Pacts and gear should you choose them.

When starting off, players will now choose from either Spirit, Courage, or Grace. This choice determines your starting pact and signature weapon. You'll also get a totem granting access to your faction that hangs around your neck in a new gear slot. This totem allows entry to your faction's enclave. Think of it as their home base. Here you'll gain access to repeatable faction quests and boss fights that'll reward you with Faction XP. Gain rep and get access to more rewards. Us MMO players all know how this works by now.

Eventually you will be able to change factions later, but you can't do that in testing yet, so choose wisely.

Prelude 9 expands Soulframe's world, adds new bosses, new weapons, and new pacts. The game's cash shop currency also begins testing with today's update. More to come on that as tests proceed, though. Loot also gets a bit of a rework to make fragments and materials more available from just about every source including chests and Tales quest rewards.

Hit up the full patch notes for pictures of all faction enclaves, patrons, and a full list of bug fixes that also dropped today.
