Digital Extremes is still hard at work on Soulframe, as those of you participating in the Preludes know. Still, some of the team took time to offer players a look at what they’ve been working on as well as answer some questions in a new video. The first part of the video shows some of the work they’re currently doing on creating a greater variety of enemies – including some dogs that will probably not end up on the “can you pet the dog” list. It’d be difficult getting past that armor anyway.

The bulk of the video was dedicated to answering player questions.

One answer that came out of the video that Prelude players will want to know about is that not all of your progress will carry over. This is due to the fact that they will still be resetting accounts every so often – likely until sometime in the fall. At that point, some of the data might carry over, but they didn’t really confirm that. What they did confirm is that players will get some sort of compensation in the form of things like emotes to make up for it.

Players also inquired about better transparency on drop chances while in Preludes – similar to that found in Warframe. The answer was that they’ll look into it. It might be easier to do than they’re thinking, so it’s worth looking at.

Other questions focus on things like weapons and movement. Based on the answers, it seems this is all stuff they’re still working out a bit. None of it’s guaranteed for the MMORPG, but also doesn’t seem to be ruled out.

The Soulframe team has also announced plans for the very first Soulframe DevStream live from TennoCon 2024. The stream will take place on July 20th and noon eastern.
