Sony And Bungie Continue To Move Forward With Unannounced Projects Likely Related To Sony's "Live Service" Goal
We haven't heard about them in a while so even something as small as a confirmation tweet is nice.
Just a few weeks ago we reported on Valorant's previous director heading to Bungie to become a "Creative Director". While the project or game wasn't confirmed, we believed it to be one of the projects Bungie had already kicked off seeing as Destiny 2 already has a creative director.
While we don't know if this project was the "3rd Person Action Game" Bungie was hiring a creative director for back in March of 2022, we do know that all the projects were likely related to and supported by Sony given they acquired the studio in a push to build out more live service games, as many as 12 by 2026 in fact.
It seems these projects are still moving forward if a tweet from Tom Farnsworth, Senior Design Lead at Bungie, is taken at face value.
This Shield is what 11 years at Bungie looks like. Each medal represents one of the 25+ Destiny releases we’ve shipped to millions of players. During that time we completely changed how we develop games and do business, moving from strictly boxed products to live service games. pic.twitter.com/XVab4UJmS1

In a reply to his own tweet, Farnsworth adds, "And with the support of Sony we are working on a number of unannounced projects too. Come join us!"
The purchase by Sony was also a move to try and make Sony games more "multiplatform" and expand the company's reach into the PC market.
Knowing that some of these projects are still rolling, what would you like to see from Bungie?
