Some Are Reporting That Marvel Rivals Is Pitting Players Against Bots To Guarantee A Win If They Lose Too Often

Marvel Rivals players have been noting something interesting about the game’s quick match system. According to an article on MP1st, NetEase’s hero shooter has a system that will put players into matches against poor playing bots if the player loses too often. The apparent idea is to avoid having players feel too bad about losing all the time.

Of course, not all losses are attributable to a single player. Sometimes you just get a bad team, or the team you’re up against is just that good. Sometimes luck just isn’t with you, and that can definitely feel bad. It seems that NetEase would rather players didn’t feel bad – at least not in quick matches. The solution, according to data reported by a community member named ciaranxy, is to insert bots and have them pretend to be really bad players.

The thing is that it apparently only takes two consecutive losses for the system to potentially put players into a bot lobby where they will have a team of 4 humans and 2 bots compete against 6 bots. If players are put into the bot lobby, they risk penalization if they leave.

Obviously, the idea would be to keep players happy. That said, players of hero shooter are pretty competitive and this news isn’t actually keeping them happy. Now, they’re hoping that NetEase will be more open about the bot situation as most people want to know if they’re up against someone real or a bot.
