Right out of the gate, this one has serious "No Man's Sky but realistic looking" vibes attached to it. That's not a bad thing, mind you, it's just the likely observation most gamers will probably make when they see and hear what Snail Games is up to in the multiplayer survival space this time around. Obviously the Snail Games team has a ton of experience in the survival genre through their publishing of the ARK series. This time, they're hoping to take that experience and move it into space in the newly announced "For The Stars."

For The Stars doesn't have a release date or even a release window announced yet, but the game has been in development for three years and is now up on Steam for you to add it to your wishlist.

Currently slated for a release on Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, For The Stars opens up the vast reaches of space for exploration. While exploring is a key aspect of the title, the persistent open world also tasks players (alone or with friends, yes it is multiplayer and carries the "MMO" tag on Steam currently) with travelling from planet to planet. Learn about each varied biome, gather resources as needed, and take those resources to other planets to build the civilization of your dreams. It's very 4x gameplay nestled in a survival game shell.

If you aren't the biggest fan of survival games, For The Stars maybe still be one to keep an eye on. In a new video revealing the project, the Snail Games team claims they are keeping other groups of players in mind and are creating this game for everyone. Whether that's a survival game fan, a sci-fi fan, a crafting fan, or even just someone that wonders "what if" when it comes to living on another planet, the team thinks For The Stars is for you.

Check out the video below, which sadly doesn't show gameplay yet, and let us know what you think of For The Stars so far.
