It seems Smite is due another god -- this time from the Greek pantheon. Today, Titan Forge Games published a post discussing the creation of the game's next planned addition, Charybdis.

Charybdis's design is based on mythology that ties her to Scylla in an almost sibling-like fashion. As a result, the dev team decided to make her a little more human than monster. Like Scylla, she's part monster, with one arm being a large-mouthed creature that lives under her cloak. When she joins Smite, it will be as a Physical Hunter. She embodies the dangers that lurk in the sea and is a member of the ocean's royal family, the daughter of Poseidon. She's also cursed and holds a good bit of anger to those responsible. She's also violent and unpredictable.

A post on the Smite site details the work that went into creating Charybdis, including early sketches that highlight her relationship to Scylla. There are several sketches that demonstrate several different aesthetic choices, including hairstyle, and outfit -- as well as the different designs for her arm monster -- otherwise known as The Maw.
