Smite’s Next God Is Maui: The Hero Of Hawai’i And Someone Is Celebrating With A Tattoo

Smite’s next god is a little more down-to-Earth than most of their previous gods. That might have something to do with him being a demigod, though. Maui, the Hero of Hawai’i, is coming to the game later this month. Although the trailer wants to be vague and just says October 2022, we do know that the new god will drop on October 18. There are no notes available as of yet, but with that date, we should get them soon.

That aside, the Smite team did their usual good work making an impressive-looking god with features people will associate with him. That includes his weapon. Fans can get a glimpse of Maui doing Maui things in the video below.

On a fun note, Maui is the first god that developer Ryan Bailey worked on, and in honor of that milestone, he decided to mark it with a new tattoo. He also revealed in the same post that we’ll be getting more info on Maui on Wednesday. Check for the stream at 3:00 PM Eastern.

I feel so lucky to have Maui as my first god that I’ve led on the design side. It’s been a dream come true to work on a god for my favorite game. Can’t wait for y’all to see more on Wednesday.
