SMITE Launches on XBox One; Announces XBox One Tournament
It's nice when your game already has over 1 million players on launch day. Not too many games can claim those types of numbers overall, let alone on launch day but that's exactly what Hi-Rez Studios did when they announced that SMITE, the free to play MOBA, officially launched on the XBox One today with over 1 million players signed up to play from previous beta stages.
SMITE now becomes the first MOBA with a competitive eSports circuit on both the PC and consoles and is took things a step further last week when they revealed their upcoming SMITE XBox One Tournament this October. An XBox One SMITE league will soon follow.
The launch of SMITE on Xbox One is just the beginning, however. Regular updates are planned for the game, with a new god every month, UI modifications and spectator support all coming soon.
