A large part of Smite 2's roster so far has been updated versions of gods from various pantheons from the MOBA's original version. They have been adding a few brand new gods throughout testing phases, though. Today sees the game not only reveal a new god, but also an entirely new pantheon.

Princess Bari, a ranged magic user with some explosive damage potential and the ability to somewhat stave off death, is the game's first representation of the Korean pantheon. For the most part, Bari is a hybrid god who excels at the carry role, but she doesn't use mana. Being more shamanistic, Bari utilizes "Spirit" which is gained upon each successful skill hit or cast. If allies take part in Bari's ritual, they can actually gain death immunity.

According to the devs, the artistic representation of Bari sees, "color palette draws heavily from the Sam-Taegeuk symbol, a core emblem in many shamanic practices. We emphasized key ritual items—her hat, fan, and bangul (a bell-bearing staff)—both in her visual design and her gameplay mechanics."
