Slayer Script Fixes Are Still Coming In New World, Plus Upcoming Combat Changes In May
It's a bit of an "up and down" situation.
This week's episode of New World Forged in Aeternum is a Balance of Power episode, and it's loaded with information about changes coming to the MMORPG in the May update. Grab your popcorn, cause this sucker is 30 mins long.
The New World devs start out addressing the elephant in the room that is Slayer Script and all of the issues it launched with. They plan on continuing to deploy fixes to address Slayer Script until they get it right. I mean, it would have been nice if the delayed launch fixed it, but this is Amazon Games we're talking about here.
Next up they discuss siege weapons in New World and how they have felt lackluster. They are increasing the power of siege weaponry to help it catch up to player levels and gear levels. The cost of ammo resupply is also being decreased to help the meta shift away from all warhorns.
Tanks in New World will be getting some love as they are increasing the effectiveness of taunts to help it keep up with the damage increase weapons recently got.
Winged Leather Shoes and Magnetic Gauntlets Artifacts are getting a buff as well. They are currently the least-used armor Artifacts and the devs would like to see their use increased.
Bow users are a little too safe and a little too powerful right now, so the two dots in the bow build are getting nerfs. The goal isn't to nerf it into the ground, just to balance it back out a bit.
Hatchet is getting some changes to the Keen Berserk trait, removing the health condition so it works at any time. The values will be adjusted.
