Skyforge Planning Cross-Platform Patching In 2018
With 2017 coming to a close, it's time for Skyforge's producer, Volker Boenigk, to post the annual Producer's Letter -- taking a look back at what's happened over the last year while also looking forward to 2018. Obviously a lot of stuff has happened over the last 12 months, what with the release of the game on both PS4 and Xbox one.
Of course, since the game has rolled out on the different platforms at various times, the team currently spends a lot of time reworking content already released on the PC for console release. This takes a good amount of time away from new content creation. Not wanting to allow patches for the more recently added platforms to slow down new content for everyone, the team is working to get to a point where patches roll out across all platforms at the same time. This will allow them to focus on the content currently being developed as well as assure less bugs and faster delivery.
In addition to improving the game's patch schedule, the team also has plans to focus on improving PvP -- especially for console players. This was apparently one of the big things on players' wishlists and as such it'll be getting a lot of attention.
There's apparently more in the works as well, but Boenigk has decided to be a bit cagey about what else players can expect. That said, if you'd like more information on these two things -- or to just walk down memory lane and review what's happened in 2017 -- you can find the post on the Skyforge site.
