Shoot Bugs And Save Humanity In A Newly Announced Multiplayer Starship Troopers Game
The game is slated to enter Early Access on Steam next year.
Get ready for some more nostalgia-based co-op gameplay. A new game set in the Starship Trooper universe, titled Starship Troopers: Extermination is on the way. The game’s developer, Offworld Industries, announced the game earlier today, dropping both an announcement and a gameplay trailer.
The announcement trailer is pretty short and teaser-y, so it’s a bit difficult to tell how much of the vibe from the movie will make it into the game, although the bugs definitely look like the bugs we all know. The trailer also bears the Tri-Star logo – as in the film company with the rights.
The game is co-op and designed for matches with twelve players. They’re divided into three teams of four. Players can choose between three different classes; Assault, Support, and Defense – so your basic DPS, Healer, and Tank scenario. It also features build systems. That would be things like walls, towers, and ammo stations. As for the bugs, there will be five different types in the game when early access launches, ranging from drones to elite bugs.
As noted, the game is slated to enter early access sometime next year. For now, players who are interested can check out the game’s Steam page and sign up for the wishlist. We’re sure more information will be released as time goes on.
