Shards Are About To Become A Much More Personal Item In V Rising
Stunlock Studios discusses how shards are changing in a post about equipment.
Shards are not a new thing in V Rising. These limited items aren’t easy to get, but the vampire that has them in their castle – and those lucky enough to be considered friends – reap the benefits of having them in the form of powerful stats and buffs. Now, these buildings that used to reside in castles are being converted to become necklaces that players can carry with them to benefit from the stats and buffs.
The idea is that they will offer the bearer a chance to make their character even more unique, while also creating a reason for players on PvP servers to get out there and battle. These items will be rare and, if a player wants one, they’ll have to get out there and take them off of someone else if they can’t snag them from V Blood Bosses. At the same time, a vampire who has one of these necklaces will need to go out and recharge them at events in the final zone. It’s not as if they will be able to holed up somewhere and avoid risking it being taken off them.
This is all part of a larger plan of offering players ways to really make their vampire be the vampire they want it to be in the survival game. The larger post discusses gear as a whole and how more will be added while current gear will be adjusted so that players can personalize their character and play with their own style. The plan can be read in full on the Stunlock Studios blog.
