SEGA has announced they will celebrate ten years of Phantasy Star Online 2 and the 35th anniversary of the entire Phantasy Star series with a live orchestral performance. On January 21st at 1:00 a.m. Pacific Time, SEGA plans to livestream the celebratory event at Bunkamaru Orchard Hall in Japan for dedicated fans across the globe.
Coined as "Sympathy 2023," the upcoming orchestral performance is only available to those who purchase livestream tickets (about $34 USD). Besides gaining entry, all ticket purchasers will receive a bonus item code to redeem an in-game chat stamp, sticker, violin emote, and Mag Form in PSO2: New Genesis. If something happens and you miss the event, SEGA plans to archive the stream for viewing until January 29th at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
The concert will feature Azusa Tadokoro, the VA of Nadereh in New Genesis, joined by vocalists Annette Marie Cotrill, Mika Arisaka, Aimee Blackschleger, and others. The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra on stage will be conducted by Masamichi Amano.
Amano will lead everyone through a highly-requested vocal rendition of Unfathomable Darkness in the first part of the showing. The concert's second part follows Tadokoro singing Song of War, while the final part wraps up with an orchestral version of Song of Mourning.
