The Seer Has Arrived In Apex Legends' Emergence Update
Apex Legends dropped the Emergence Update today, bringing players a new legend weapon, map updates, and the game's latest legend, Seer. This new Legend has the unique ability to see what others can't -- such as the heartbeat of nearby enemies when aiming, or the exact locations of multiple enemies with the help of microdrones -- making the new legend very difficult to hide from.
As for the new weapon, the Rampage is a high-powered, heavy ammo LMG designed for mid-range combat. Just don't try to use it up close, since it has a slower fire rate and that can definitely works against you when someone is in your face. That said, there is a workaround: the weapon has been modified so that players can use a thermite grenade to improve its fire rate long enough to cause some major havoc.
The update also introduces Ranked Arenas to the game. Players can work their way into these arenas in 10 placement matches that determine their MMR. The devs do warn that in the earlier placement matches, things may not be too level, because their point is to use those to figure out where players rank. Once everything is settled, you'll find yourself in ranked 3v3 bouts, and there's no entry cost to worry about.
The update includes quality-of-life changes, as well as content-influenced map updates. World's Edge now has a new look brought on by excessive mining practices and weather-control machines are currently in use to try to get things (lava, we mean lava) under control. That does mean, however, that players now have to fight in a landscape that's pretty cold while avoiding the lava ruptures around them. So, enjoy that.
