Arena Mode Is Finally Being Replaced: Sea Of Thieves Season 8 To Bring New PvP System
You'll have to choose your faction, though.
On November 22, Sea of Thieves players will finally be getting the replacement for the game’s Arena mode. The new system will allow players to jump right into PvP content on the high seas without having to search for targets. Instead, an Hourglass of Fortune will be added to every pirate’s ship allowing them to kick off PvP quickly.
The new system creates PvP that is opt-in and asks players to join a faction – either Pirate Lord and the Guardians or Captain Flameheart and crew. Players pledge their allegiance and then go on about their day until they’re ready to join in the fight. Those who jump right in will be taking the offensive, so be certain that’s what you want to do.
This is all good news for more casual players as well, who want to avoid surprise attacks when they’re just trying to get things done. That’s always nice.
