Sea Of Thieves Delays Season 10 Until October, But There's Still Plenty Of Content Coming Between Now And Then
They aren't where they want to be development wise for Season 10.
Sea of Thieves needs more time to cook on Season 10. They announced today that they will be delaying the launch of Season 10 until October 19th. They didn't make this decision lightly and feel it is best for the game.
Pirates: we've made the difficult decision to move the launch of Season Ten back to October 19th. While we know delays are disappointing, our team needs a little more time to get this substantial new update ready for you. That doesn't mean there isn't any new content coming for the multiplayer game, however. There is still the Monkey Island story that is live now, a second part of the Monkey Island story in August, and the thrilling finale is coming in September. There will also be plenty of live events happening from August until October to help keep players entertained.
Season 9 will continue to run in Sea of Thieves while we wait for Season 10. The SoT team acknowledges that this is quite a long time for a Season to run, and that many players may have seen all there is to see in Season 9, but the health of Season 10 (and probably their developers as well) requires the delay until October.
There is an upside to the delay, as Season 11's headline feature will now become a part of Season 10, increasing the content of the Sea of Thieves Season 10 patch once it does go live.
