Sci-Fi Strategy MMO Space Wars Enters Early Access On Steam
Today, Desert Owl Games announced the launch of Early Access for its free-to-play, sci-fi MMO Space Wars: Interstellar Empire. A strategy game, Space Wars blends turn-based combat with real-time interstellar travel.
According to the game's Steam page, the Early Access is launching with the understanding that the game is technically still in beta but all the major bugs have been eliminated. The game will be in Early Access for abut 1 year, allowing the developers to test gameplay balance, server load, and more.
At Early Access launch, players will have access to two out of the four playable races in the game. Currently, not all of the game's features will be available, but players can expect the following:
“Fully playable with leaderboard and statistics sections, well tested out in internal beta for the last 6 months, game breaker bugs eliminated, all ships balanced and playable but with only two races (Sol Imperial Worlds, Genari United Empire).”
On another note, the developers state that prices for purchasable items will be lower during Early Access, with some ship variants and skins being free.
