Sci-Fi Sandbox MMORPG The Repopulation Teases Alpha Features
For those who've been on the lookout for a true spiritual-successor to SOE's ill-fated Star Wars Galaxies, you may have or not have heard about The Repopulation by Above and Beyond Technologies. A three-faction, PvP oriented sandbox MMO currently in Alpha, The Repopulation promises to bring a variety of combat oriented and non-combat activities, all of which are enhanced through skill-based progression, no traditional leveling.
The MMO has been in development for a couple of years now, and has enjoyed several rounds of successful Kickstarter funding, with campaigns often reaching double their original funding goals. All of this has brought The Repopulation several steps closer to bringing the MMO's expansive list of game features to fruition.
Even while The Repopulation is still just in its third round of Alpha testing, the MMO has already showcased some of its more robust features in action, including the ability for players to create their own independent nations, complete with player made cities filled with custom built structures.
A new teaser trailer (featured above) for the MMO's alpha touches on several other key features such as the game's in-depth crafting system (heavily inspired by SWG), the ease of which players can create their own housing and the ability to tame organic and inorganic pets, each with their own pros and cons.
More details are also said to be released this coming Saturday, starting at 2PM EDT during an official livestream for The Repopulation on Twitch.
