Scavengers Is Shutting Down On December 16 After Over A Year Of Early Access
"The last few months have seen a decline in the playerbase."
Developer Improbable has updated players and Scavengers will shut down on December 16, 2022.
During the last few months, the game has "seen a decline in the player base," which moved Improbable to explore "many options to reinvigorate server population" but has been unable to do so. Eventually, the developers realized continuing development and maintaining its live service would be "unsustainable." With that, Scavengers faces closure after over a year of Early Access in a few weeks.
"From the very start of development, we wanted to create a unique, team-focused strategic online shooter experience that we built alongside our community," Improbable stated in its announcement post. "Your passion, dedication and support for Scavengers has been nothing short of extraordinary. We thank you for taking this journey with us."
Chip prices for all in-game items have been reduced by 90% for players to purchase until December 16.
