SAND Drops 7 Minutes Of Mech Combat PvPvE Gameplay Ahead Of A Demo Launching Tomorrow
No need to wait until Steam Next Fest starts for this one.
With Steam Next Fest firing next week, we've already posted about a number of demos or public tests opening up as part of the gaming celebration. We've got PvPvE fantasy game Legacy: Steel & Sorcery opening up a demo and MOBA/battle royale/hero shooter mashup SUPERVIVE getting in on the public access fun, too.
However, let's say you're more of a mech combat kind of person and you're also an impatient person. Then today's news is a great combination for you. SAND, the survival/mech combat PvPvE game from publisher tinyBuild and indie developers Hologryph and TowerHaus, has decided they'd like to have a little fun and are releasing a demo of their own. The really good news? They aren't waiting until Steam Next Fest actually starts to kick things off.
SAND's demo will be available starting tomorrow, October 11th.
While you can already request access to testing, anyone with a Steam account will be able to hop into a demo of the game tomorrow and start canvassing the world for parts. Take those parts and build your own mech-monstrosity to expand your area of exploration in the deserts of the planet Sophie. Things haven't gone well here. While humanity travels the stars, this planet became a forgotten relic after its oceans dried up.
If you want to survive, you'll need to explore on foot (first-person view) or in your own customizable mech and loot everything you need. However, you won't be alone out there with roving bands of AI enemies and groups of other players that may not take too kindly to your encroaching on their territory opting to take you out.
Ahead of the demo, the team has revealed 7 minutes of gameplay that showcases both the "on foot" survival aspects of SAND, and the variety of mech customizations available to you. It also shows off some of the lumbering combat between rival mechs.
Take RUST and combine it with Crossout? Yeah, maybe that's a good way to explain SAND. Check out the gameplay below.
