Rust Gets A Bit Of A Makeover In The 2.0 World Update
Radtown and local scenery got a lot of love.
Rust, Facepunch’s survival game is looking a bit spiffier with the release of the 2.0 World Update. The update boasts a new-ish Radtown. Things look better and new paths have been opened to improve flow, but effort was made to preserve the proportions and purpose of various locations.
Of course, what’s the point in making the local landmark look better if the environment around it doesn’t match? Not only have the local cliffs and rock formations been upgraded, but new and unique formations like canyons and an oasis have been added to the game. In addition, rivers are now longer than before and wider in some places, which called for an overhaul of the game’s water system to support the changes.
The update doesn’t just tweak the landscape, though. It also introduces a new weapon: the high calibre revolver. This is a hand-crafted, single-action weapon that requires 5.56 ammunition. It’s designed for long-range shot and has a slower fire rate.
Also included in the update is the return of wood piles (like ore piles, but for wood), remodeled ocean wreck buoys, refreshed dive sites, and more. The full patch notes are available on Facepunch’s site.
