Russian World Of Tanks Developer Has Reportedly Had Their Assets Seized By The Russian Government
No reason has been given so far.
While World of Tanks’ primary developer Wargaming ceased any work in Russia shortly after the invasion of Ukraine, the war strategy game remains in production in the country, being overseen by Lesta. As a result, the games are somewhat different at this point, but that likely hasn’t made the Russian version any less popular.
That said, Lesta is having some serious issues at the moment – just not ones that are development or player-related. According to a report on MassivelyOP, three companies under the Lesta name have had their assets seized by the prosecutor general’s office. At present, no reason has been given for this action, although there’s plenty of speculation on Reddit.
As for Lesta, they are reported to have responded, saying that the company “operates in full compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus”. Their statement also reportedly says that there is no reason for concern or concealment of information.
