RuneScape's Latest Archaeological Dig Site Is Open
Yesterday, RuneScape dropped another update, opening the Orthien dig site up for exploration. This new site is based on Anachronia and is going to be very useful for players working their way between Archaeology levels 90 and 120. It's divided into ten smaller locations scattered over the island map, with the first location being the Crypt of Varanus. These locations vary in level and offer 22 new artifacts and five new materials. There are also eight new mysteries to solve.
In order to explore the new dig site, players need to have reached level 90 in Archaeology. They'll also need to have completed the quest "Desperate Measures" if they don't want to struggle in some of the later areas.
Accompanying the release of the new dig site is a community event in which players will be digging up dinosaur fragments to contribute to a paleontological project. Those who participate will receive a 25% XP buff in several activities, including Excavation and the Anachronia Agility Course. Full details on the event as well as the new site are available in the most recent patch notes.
