RuneScape Implementing Long-Requested Bank Improvements
Sure, this news is two weeks old, but it's a preview of content that isn't coming to the game for a few months ... and it's a slow news day ... and it's about inventory management, which meant I had to write about it.
Jagex has some major changes in store for RuneScape players to help them deal with how they organize their banks. The biggie is bank placeholders, which will allow players to keep their banks organized the way they want them to, even when an item, or the last item in a stack, is removed. The feature was initially teased all the way back in 2016, but Jagex admits they "probably got a bit ahead of ourselves." Seeing as how the game was already 15 years old at that point, what's three more years?
Other improvements to the bank include the addition of six new bank tabs, going from nine to 15, and a slew of new buttons and filters to help with sorting. There's even going to be dynamic searching, but don't type too quickly, or else there will be "a noticeable delay." Ancient MMOs, even well-kept ones, just can't keep up with those fast-typing kids these days, it seems.
There will be a beta for all of this -- yes, a beta to test inventory changes -- sometime during the months of July, August, and September. If you're as thrilled as I am -- and I don't even play the game! -- you can learn more on the RuneScape site.
