RuneScape Gets New Area While Old School Welcomes Back Old Foe
Het's Oasis replaces PvP Duel Arena and Nex: The Fifth General is freed.
After 18 years -- and countless PvP battles -- RuneScape's Duel Arena is no more. Following a catacylsmic earthquake, heroes can participate in a "rejuvenation" of the area, transforming it from blood-soaked battle pit to tranquil oasis. For their efforts, heroes will be rewarded with a crocodile pet and gator-themed footwear, as well as desert-themed cosmetic armor.
In two weeks, the grand unveiling of their efforst, Het's Oasis, will take place. It's a multipurpose facility with miniquests, skilling areas for Agility, Hunting, and Farming skills, and more. You can also assist the God of Death as you delve into Het's tomb for an artifact to aid in the Elder God Wars.
Speaking of God Wars, Old School RuneScape "welcomes" back Nex: The Fifth General, who was voted on to return to the game by 90% of players. Nex is a members-only group boss that initially showed up in 2011 and can be challenged in groups up to 80 players in size. Beat her to have a chance to receive the Ancient Godsword, Zaryte crossbow, or the Torva armour set.
