Better New Player Experiences And Desire For Feedback Take The Lead In Rogue Company's Plans For 2023
It's a new year with new things in store for Rogue Company.
Rogue Company Design Lead Jared Sanchez posted an update today about his vision for the future of this free-to-play, team-based, multiplayer shooter. Sanchez has been with Rogue Company since it was barely a prototype and wanted to touch on the game's key strategies heading into 2023.
Sanchez touched on the identity of the game as well as its Rogues and weapons, saying they want to focus more on emphasizing the strengths and weaknesses of each to make them more unique, pointing out things like how SMGs and shotguns shouldn't be as effective at longer ranges. A renewed focus on balance will carry the team throughout the year.
Next, he talked about the longevity of the game, especially focusing on the new player experience. Sanchez says that there is a healthy influx of new players coming into Rogue Company and they want to make sure the new player experience was better in onboarding those fresh players.
Sanchez asked for honest open feedback about the game and said they are constantly working to improve the quality and stability with "strong resources to put towards working on that". They say they will be listening to feedback and interacting with the community through various channels.
