Rocket League Season 4 To Add More Competitive Tournaments, Including 2v2
Rocket League's 4th competitive season is less than a week away, and we still don't know what the planned theme is. Don't stress, Psyonix is going to provide us with that information next week. It'll have to be early next week, since the season launches on August 11.
That said, it's not like we don't know anything about Season 4. The devs have provided us with some interesting pieces of information regarding competitive tournaments. When the new season launches, the team will be adding new competitive tournaments "each day". Among the planned new tournaments are 2v2 and extra modes. 2v2 tournaments will operate like 3v3, with players joining alone or as a team to take part in a 32-team bracket and make their way to the top.
To accommodate these new tournaments, Psyonix has elected to expand the tournament schedule rather than take out any of the existing 3v3s to make room for them. As for the Extra Modes, they will change every day. So, players will need to keep track of the schedule to know what's happening at any given time. In addition, the Tournament History tab is being updated to include more information about each tournament a player participates in and the players' tournament ranks will now appear on the tournament home screen.
