As It Continues To Hemorrhage Money, Roblox Announces In-Platform Career Center, Will Hold Interviews There
The immersive experience is intended to give recruits and idea of what it’s like to work at Roblox.
Well, this is different but interesting. Roblox is implementing a new system for engaging with potential employees. The Roblox Career Center is an “experience” built using the Roblox platform that allows potential employees from all around the world to interact with the company and get a better idea of what working there would be like. It offers the Roblox team an easier way to engage with potential candidates that otherwise just wouldn’t make it in front of them – due to things like geographical location.
The platform was built with candidates who are just starting out in mind, particularly those who are likely familiar with the platform due to growing up with it. These same candidates are also the ones that might have a more difficult time getting to a traditional interview.
Of course, that part could be solved with something like Discord or Zoom, but building a recruiting system on the Roblox platform allows for a bit more interactivity. The Career Center includes a variety of features such as the Innovation Lab where recruits will learn about the company’s plans and be able to hear stories from employees. There’s a podcast lounge to listen to casts hosted by Roblox Co-founder and CEO Dave Baszucki as well.
Recruits will get help with the interview process. The team provides them with preparation materials in the Center’s library. This includes books as well as information on the company’s history, philosophy, and more. There’s also an area to take practice assessment tests.
In addition, interested candidates can take part in virutal events like talks held by members of the company’s staff. It’s an interesting approach to the career recruitment system.
In other Roblox news, not everything is great. The company suffered a 21% drop on the stock market earlier this week. This drop followed a $282.8 million loss over the last quarter, a sizeable difference from the $176.4 million loss for the same period in 2022. These recent losses basically wipe out all money made this year so far.
