Well, here’s a bit of unexpected but likely pleasant news for those of you who have been waiting (How long is it now?) for the League of Legends MMO. Today, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, who previously worked on The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 as quest designer of varying levels announced via Twitter that he is joining Riot Games for their upcoming MMO project.
Big career update - I spent last few months meeting and talking to a number of great people and Teams, and now I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be joining @riotgames on their upcoming MMO project. I’m excited and looking forward to this new challenge, stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/9dfKdBCG7B

Tomaszkiewicz didn’t state specifically what his position will be at Riot, but based on his currently pinned tweet, we can probably make some pretty good guesses. For those wondering, the tweet lists his former positions at CD Projekt Red beginning as QA on The Witcher and ending with the position of Quests Director for Cyberpunk 2077. Considering the other three positions all also have “quest” in the title, it’s a pretty sure bet he’ll be doing something involving quests.
Of course, this means that Riot really is moving on that MMO and they’re dedicated enough to be bringing in people to help put that world together. So, that’s good news all around.
