Riot's F2P 2v2 Fighter 2XKO Won't Have Another Playtest Until Next Spring, But Jinx Will Be Playable Then
Riot's Alpha Lab testing is already leading to changes.
2XKO, the 2v2 fighting game featuring League of Legends and Arcane characters from Riot Games, took a few moments today to catch fans up on the results from their now complete Alpha Labs testing. If you're a bit confused by the name, remember, this is what used to be known as "Project L."
In the announcement, the 2XKO team takes a moment to thank Alpha Labs testers and acknowledge all the community-built tournaments the fighter had fire off. That said, they are headed "back to the lab" to rework a few things based on player feedback. This include decreasing the downtime when you get rocked by a combo, untying things from certain buttons so the control isn't unwieldy, and creating more opportunities for team play, whether playing your squad solo or with a friend.
However, you're going to need to wait a bit to actually test those changes. 2XKO will not see a new round of testing until Spring of 2025. The tests will be more broadly available to players, including players in countries that haven't seen testing yet.
While that may be quite the wait, the team also revealed a new video showing off revamped Jinx toolkits to coincide with the Arcane show's new season. The titular character will finally be playable in those Spring 2025 tests...so at least there's that.
